3rd Annual Patriotic Celebration at R4C Ranch arena--
4pm-11pm July 4th, 2010
-->MOUNTED DRILL TEAM PERFORMANCE-- 4PM
-->POTLUCK BBQ- 6pm
-->CAMPFIRE AT THE RETREAT AND FIREWORKS- DARK
The big event started out with the R4C Ranch Mounted Drill team in their patriotic performance and the reading of the Declaration of Independence. The team a mix of experienced and new to drill riders and horses did an excellent job of executed their drills in between rain showers. Excellent food was brought in by all and although a little soggy, we worked in a fantastic Potluck BBQ under the "big top". Due to impending t-storms we opted out of moving to the retreat and shot off as many fireworks as we could before the 'big top' came down. About that time folks had to scatter. If we didn't get a chance to tell you good bye, thanks so much for joining us for our 3rd annual Independence Day Celebration. Despite unfavorable weather, we gave this country a pretty decent birthday party. Hope you enjoyed it!!

TRAIL RIDERS
Find the Best Equestrian Trails in Kansas in
Kansas Outdoor Treasure by Julie M. Cirlincuina
Thanks, Julie, for putting this together!!
Trail Riding at R4C Ranch:
R4C Ranch is host to Riders For Christ a trail riding fellowship. Horse owners who want to ride with others in a Christian environment are invited to join us on scheduled rides and campfire worship at the ranch and throughout the region. Non-horseowners are welcome to join us for campfire worship. We have a few slots open to volunteers who have some equestrian experience to help train up a few horses for trail riding. Some of these horses have been ridden and just need some TLC to get back in shape for the trail, others are of unknown background and need more experienced handlers to assess where they are. Volunteers will work with the staff at the ranch to help prepare these horses for trail riding and then will have the priviledge of riding them on fellowship events. Email the ranch at R4C_Ranch@ yahoo.com to express your interest.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED
It is our goal at R4C Ranch to offer affordable horse boarding and riding lessons through the efforts of our horse and riding community as well as volunteers who love to come out and enjoy the country with us. Volunteer days are fun, rewarding, and offer a great opportunity to make new friends and build a network of people to call when you need help at home. Everyone here loves to share their talents with each other so don't forget to ask if you need help.

Our Purpose
The purpose of R4C Ranch is to share God’s love with all who are drawn here by the Holy Spirit and to serve them with all we have as the Lord leads us.
Our hope is to allow others to draw near to God as the animals, the birds, the earth, and the fish teach and instruct them about who the Lord is and what He has done.
R4C RANCH TRAIL RIDERS' PRAYER
Dear Father, Father of all creation,
hear our prayer,
let your spirit be with us, hear our hearts as we share,
As we saddle up our horses and prepare to ride,
We ask that you would be our guide,
Not just on this trail but on all trails of life,
Lead us out of darkness and into your light.
We thank you for our equine friends and your majesty you reveal through them.
Let them carry us safely as we ride today and reveal to us more of you, Lord, along the way.
Prepare us for you, Lord, renew our minds,
as we venture out, new treasures to find,
Following our leader, Faithful and True,
Everywhere we go, Lord, we'll follow you.
Thank you for Jesus, who came to save, In his name, Lord, today we pray. AMEN

offers equine-assisted interpersonal development and skills training at the ranch. Email r4c_ranch@ yahoo.com for more information or to schedule an appointment.
Interpersonal skills help us form and keep healthy relationships with other people. Our beliefs, values, attitudes, feelings, choices, behaviors, habits, talents, thoughts, desires, and appearance all affect the way we inter-relate with others. Healthy relationships are important in our families, in our social lives, and in our work lives.
Early development and family life instills many of our interpersonal habits and many of these habits, both good and bad, we do without thinking. Some interpersonal constructs are inherited. The most obvious are genetic attributes such as height and other physical features, as well as some personality traits. Many interpersonal skills are learned and may or may not be helpful in developing healthy interpersonal relationships.
To improve our interpersonal skills we need to understand our behaviors, as well as our genetic attributes, from the perspective of those we interact with. Equine-assisted interpersonal development offers an experiential learning environment that helps individuals become aware of habits and behaviors that affect their relationships that would otherwise go unnoticed. Equine feedback is immediate and unbiased giving individuals an opportunity to evaluate how their beliefs, values, attitudes, feelings, choices, behaviors, habits, talents, thoughts, desires, and appearance might affect their interpersonal relationships.
The bible teaches us how to get along in relationship with God and others. Biblical interpersonal skills can be taught through equine-experential training where individuals can practice new skills in a safe equine-assisted environment and then transfer those skills into their other personal relationships.
